DAZN Extends Exclusive Matchroom Boxing Rights in UK and US
Global sports streaming service DAZN has renewed its major broadcasting agreement with leading British promoter Matchroom Boxing, securing exclusive rights across the United Kingdom and the United States for another five years.
Under the extended contract announced this week, DAZN will remain the primary broadcaster for Matchroom’s fights and fighters, delivering more than 30 events annually promoted by Barry and Eddie Hearn.
Continuation of a Deal That Reshaped UK Boxing Coverage
The partnership between DAZN and Matchroom first began in 2021, when the streaming platform replaced traditional pay-TV coverage as the exclusive home of Matchroom events in the UK. Prior to that shift, Matchroom cards had been shown on Sky Sports for nearly a decade.
The renewal ensures fans in both the UK and the US will continue to receive premium fight broadcasts, along with year-round behind-the-scenes programming that follows fighters’ training camps, rivalries, and personal stories.
Global Stars Remain Central to DAZN’s Boxing Line-Up
Matchroom’s stable includes some of the sport’s biggest names, such as Anthony Joshua, Katie Taylor, Dmitry Bivol, and Jesse Rodriguez. Their bouts will continue to anchor DAZN’s boxing schedule under the renewed deal.
Expansion Into Australia Through Foxtel Partnership
A new element of the agreement brings the Australian market into the collaboration. Foxtel Group, recently acquired by DAZN, will serve as Matchroom’s broadcast partner in Australia.
Seven Matchroom events are scheduled to air this year on Foxtel and its Kayo streaming platform, widening the promoter’s reach across another key territory.
DAZN Positions Itself as Global Boxing Hub
DAZN chief executive Shay Segev said the renewal reinforces the platform’s ambition to be the world’s leading destination for boxing content. The highlighting the success of its relationship with Matchroom.
Matchroom chairman Eddie Hearn added that DAZN’s global reach, investment, and commitment to the sport make it the ideal long-term partner for the promoter’s fighters and events.
